Viking Gate Stuck? We'll Have You Moving Again

Why We're Viking Gate Specialists

Viking Access Systems is one of California's most-installed gate operator brands — their GB and GG-series slide gate operators are found on HOA communities, apartment complexes, and commercial properties across the state. Viking's signature feature — the magnetic limit switch system — is more reliable than mechanical limits in theory, but when it fails it fails silently: the gate over-travels without any obvious warning, stressing the chassis and posts before anyone notices. Our technicians calibrate Viking's magnetic limits with a digital tester rather than by trial-and-error, and we stock the full range of Viking control boards, motor brushes, and limit components for same-day resolution.

This is a magnetic limit failure or calibration drift. The proximity sensor is no longer seeing the limit magnet at the correct position. We recalibrate the limit magnet position and test the sensor output before the gate causes further damage.
Gradual slowing is most often worn motor brushes reducing motor efficiency. On the GB3, brushes are a standard wear item — we inspect and replace during a service call and check gear lubrication while the unit is open.
Yes. Viking's free-contact input accepts triggers from DoorKing, DoorBird, Viking intercom, and other systems. We wire and test the integration in a single service call.
Grinding at startup is usually a dry or damaged drive gear or chain. Left unlubricated, the drive components wear rapidly. We inspect and lubricate, replacing worn components as needed.
